The TikTok Shop UK Commission Rate Policy (hereafter referred to as "this Policy")has been drafted with the express purpose of:
building a positive shopping environment on TikTok Shop; and
providing a shopping experience that consumers can have confidence in.
Sellers who offer products for sale via TikTok Shop to customers in the UK must do so in accordance with our UK Seller Terms of Service and all other applicable platform policies and guidelines. This Policy will apply to all Sellers who offer products for sale via TikTok Shop UK.
1.2 Scope
This Policy outlines how Sellers will be charged for selling on TikTok Shop UK in accordance with the Commission Fee. This Policy also provides details of how Sellers may be eligible for associated Commission Fee reductions. All references to TikTok Shop in this Policy are to TikTok Shop UK.This Policy is not exhaustive, and Sellers are solely responsible for ensuring that they do not engage in any practice that is prohibited under this Policy and that they comply with applicable laws and regulations, and all TikTok Shop UK Policies, the TikTok Shop UK Seller Terms of Service, the TikTok Shop UK Seller Terms of Sale, the TikTok Shop UK Terms of Use, the TikTok Terms of Service, and the TikTok Community Guidelines. Sellers may wish to seek independent legal advice if they have questions about the laws and regulations concerning their practices.
Definitions
Defined terms in this Policy have the following meanings:
Commission Fee refers to the platform fee paid by Sellers to TikTok Shop on all GMV generated by sales.
Commission Fee rate refers to the specific percentage of GMV charged as Commission Fee.
Mission refers to action-based incentives available to eligible Sellers in the Seller Centre. Successfully meeting the terms of the Mission will unlock Seller incentives.
Seller refers to a third-party trader on TikTok Shop UK based in the UK.
GMV refers to Gross Merchandise Value or a Seller's gross sales revenue from sales made on TikTok Shop.
Commission Rates
TikTok Shop charges a fee from Sellers on all transactions on the platform. The Commission Fee is a specific percentage of an order's total amount charged. The Commission Fee rate is currently 9% before incentive reductions are applied (as outlined in section 4).The Commission Fee owed will be calculated as: Commission Fee = ((Net Sales + Customer-paid Shipping Fee + Platform Discount) - (Net Sales Refund + Platform Discount Refund)) * Commission Fee rateCustomer ReturnsIf the entire order is returned, the full Commission Fee will be refunded to the Seller. If part of the order is refunded, only the Commission Fee charged on the refunded item(s) will be refunded to the Seller.
Commission Reduction
TikTok Shop offers UK Sellers two opportunities to reduce Commission Fee rates on the platform:
Category-level reductions:all sales of products within the specified Electronics and Beauty & Personal Care categories will automatically be subject to a reduced effective Commission Fee rate of 5%. Other reductions: other reductions on standard commission rates are subject to availability at TikTok Shop's discretion and without further notice via mission or other incentive agreements.
Only one commission reduction incentive may be applied per product at one time. Reduction incentives may not be stacked. For example, a seller may experience 5% for an electronics product and 9% for a fashion product.
Category-Level Reductions
All products listed in the categories below will receive a 4% reduction in the Commission Fee rate, effectively keeping sales at the previous 5% rate.Eligible Product Categories: Products within the specified Electronics and Beauty & Personal Care categories may experience an effective Commission Fee rate of 5%. If products are incorrectly set up within eligible product categories and re-categorised by TikTok Shop product listings review processes. They will not benefit from the lower effective Commission Fee rate.
If Sellers have a mix of items from eligible and ineligible product categories, only the eligible category items will receive the category-level commission reduction benefit.Our TikTok Shop UK Policies are updated periodically.
