Problems with onboarding due to TikTok Marketing account email address being different to TikTok Shop

If you have used different emails for TikTok Marketing (also known as TikTok Ads/ TikTok for Business (TT4B) account) vs TikTok Shop, then you might see the following error when trying to connect to both your accounts on the TikTok for Shopify app:We couldn't connect TikTok Shop with your Shopify account. Currently, your TikTok For Business Account is not linked to your TikTok Marketing account. We would always recommend using the same email address to login to both TikTok Shop and your TikTok Marketing (also known as TikTok Ads/ TikTok for Business (TT4B) account) account in Shopify. Consistent login credentials across both platforms are crucial for a successful connection.
However, if you have signed up using different emails for TikTok Marketing vs TikTok Shop, then you can fix this by the following:
    1. Go to Shopify > TikTok > Settings > Accounts
      1. Ensure that select [Disconnect] under all the sections here.
    image
    1. Next, go to [Overview], click on [Continue Setup ] under the TikTok Shop heading and select the [Connect Account] button. Here you can login using the account details for your TikTok Shop.

    1. Now go to TikTok for Business and log in using the details you normally use for your TikTok Marketing account (also known as TikTok Ads / TikTok for Business (TT4B) account). You can now click on your profile that is listed under the [Business Centre] heading.

    image
    1. Navigate to [Users] and here select [Add Members]. Here you will be asked to enter a new email address (this email should be the one you have been using to login into your TikTok Shop) - you must ensure you provide this email account with admin access.
      1. This will cause your TikTok Shop account to be linked to your TikTok Marketing account , therefore enabling you to easily login and manage both accounts on your TikTok app within Shopify.
    imageimage
    1. Press [Next] and on the next page you can choose what kind of data permission you would like to provide the TikTok Shop account with (the steps listed on this page are optional). Once you are happy with the changes, press [Save].
    2. The TikTok Shop email address that you just added as an admin will be sent an email which will invite them to join your Business Centre account. They simply need to press [Accept] on this email and log into the Business Centre using their TikTok Shop details. Once they accept, they will notice that now have access to their TikTok Shop Business Centre account as well as the TikTok Marketing account.
      image
    3. Now go back to TikTok app within Shopify and refresh the page. When you click on [Continue Setup] under the TikTok Marketing heading, you will find that the account details are all automatically filled and working as expected. You should now be able to manage both your TikTok Marketing and TikTok Shop accounts within Shopify.
